Do you know about Zink printing technology?

Dear friends, do you know those small portable printers that many people use to print photos that are about the size of an ATM card?

For those who may not know, it’s called Zink printing technology (short for “zero ink“), a patent of the famous company Polaroid, which has always focused on instant development printing technologies.

The real innovation of this technology compared to previous ones is the ability to obtain much smaller devices than traditional printers (on average, Zink printers measure 12 x 8.2 x 2 cm) thanks to the reduced print size. These printers also come equipped with a lithium battery for portability.

There is no need to worry about ink cartridges with this technology because, incredibly, the paper already contains the pigment, which changes color based on the temperature applied by the printer. In less than a minute, you can get a practical and high-quality print.

This means that we can always carry it with us in our bag or backpack and print any image directly from our phone’s gallery via Bluetooth. Often, these devices also come with small editing features, but there’s nothing stopping us from taking a photo with our phone/tablet, editing it with external apps (such as Snapseed), and then printing it.

In recent years, the joy of printing has been lost, but certain memories can only be truly cherished if we can touch them with our hands.
